Assistant Professor Sociology Division: Academic Affairs Department/Office: Sociology Advertisement: The Department of Sociology at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month non-tenure track position. The undergraduate college at St. Catherine University (St. Kate's) is one of only six US institutions that is both a women's college and a minority serving institution. Based in the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota, St. Kate's is home to a diverse group of around 3,500 students in varying disciplines and degree levels. The Department of Sociology offers a variety of courses with an emphasis in race, class, gender, and related intersections. This position will support students pursuing a major or minor in Sociology as well as students who are taking Sociology to fulfill their Liberal Arts core. Strong candidates will be comfortable teaching a diverse pool of students at all undergraduate levels. Responsibilities Include: - Teach 7 courses annually - primarily in the Department of Sociology.
- Teach at least one course in Gender and Women's Studies.
- Teach at least one introductory course, The Reflective Woman (TRW) in the Core program.
- Develop syllabii, deliver and grade course materials.
- Support students and be available to address their questions.
- Monitor and assess student-learning outcomes and provide timely and frequent feedback to students on academic performance.
- Monitor curriculum content and make recommendations as appropriate to maintain relevance.

- Capable of teaching all levels of undergraduate courses to students of all cultures and backgrounds.
- Active research and scholarly agenda.
- Active research and scholarly agenda with scholarly interests in intersectionality of race, class, gender, and expertise in gender and women's studies.
