Job Description Job Description Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity is available for an experienced Operating Room Technician (ORT) with a strong background in orthopedics and spine surgery. This contract position is based in Rapid City, SD, within a surgical hospital featuring 11 OR suites and 1 GI suite, managing 30 to 50 cases daily. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in orthopedic and spine procedures and be comfortable working with advanced technology like the Mako Robot. Responsibilities: Assist in a variety of orthopedic and spine surgeries including total joints, TLIF, PLIF, decompressions, cervical fusions, arthroscopy (joint scopes), and hand and foot cases. Operate and maintain surgical instruments and Mako robotic equipment. Maintain sterile fields and assist surgical teams during procedures. Badge in and out of the facility each shift. Adhere to all facility protocols and dress code (scrubs provided). Adapt to floating within the unit as necessary. Work 10 or 12-hour shifts with no weekend or on-call requirements. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of recent orthopedic or spine OR experience. Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association. Experience with Mako Robot or similar robotic surgical systems. Prior experience with the orthopedic and spine cases outlined above (total joints, TLIF, PLIF, decompression, cervical fusions, arthroscopy). Must disclose previous employment history with the facility if applicable, including a minimum 6-month gap since last employment.
