Job Description NEW Histotechnician (HT) Opening Location: Jackson, Mississippi Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 AM – 11:30 AM Job Summary: Seeking a skilled Histotechnician (HT) to join a fast-paced laboratory team. This role is responsible for preparing human tissue specimens for microscopic examination by performing embedding, microtomy, and other essential histology procedures. The HT will also assist with special stains and immunohistochemistry (IHC) as directed. Essential Responsibilities: Embed all types of tissue specimens Section paraffin-embedded tissue using microtomy techniques Follow established histology protocols for embedding and cutting Maintain a clean, organized embedding and microtomy work area Ensure proper quality control of equipment, reagents, and solutions Prepare and maintain fresh stains, reagents, and solutions Perform special stains and IHC procedures as directed And more! Education & Training: High school diploma or GED required Completion of formal histology training or documented on-the-job histology training Continuing education maintained for certification if applicable Experience: Minimum 1 year of histology lab experience required Hands-on experience with microtomy and/or embedding is essential Interested!?
