Job Description Job Description Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Support surgical teams in a dynamic operating room setting, ensuring efficient handling of instruments, supplies, and equipment during general surgical procedures. This contract opportunity is ideal for professionals skilled in Operating Room Techniques (ORT) seeking a role that combines surgical instrument management with patient care support. Key Responsibilities: - Scrub in during general surgical procedures, maintaining sterile technique. - Prepare the operating room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies specific to each surgery. - Verify proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment; report any malfunctions. - Adhere to departmental policies, quality assurance programs, and infection control standards. - Manage sterile supplies responsibly to minimize waste and cost. - Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations in the OR. - Deliver supplies to various units and ancillary departments. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the OR environment. - Provide comfort and privacy support to pre-operative patients. - Assist Registered Nurses with patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes. - Collaborate with leadership to adjust supply par levels for efficient inventory management. - Participate in ongoing education, audits, and department initiatives. - Train and precept new Surgical Technologists as needed.
