Nonprofit Accountant - Grand Rapids, MI Salary: $30.00-$50.00 per hour Schedule: 2-3 days/week Location: In-office, Grand Rapids, MI Position Overview: Our client is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Nonprofit Accountant to join their team in Grand Rapids, MI. This part-time, in-office role offers 30 hours per week, Monday through Thursday. Nonprofit Accountant Key Responsibilities: Recording & Financial Reporting Record deposits, donations, and pledges, including credit card transactions. Track grants and financial reporting, including creating invoices. Assist with compliance reporting, including preparing, reviewing, and filing necessary reports. Allocation Plans & Budgeting Create monthly and quarterly cost allocation plans. Prepare and monitor organizational budgets. Payroll Serve as a backup for payroll processing (30 employees, bi-monthly, hourly & salaried). Review payroll and associated journal entries. Accounts Payable Act as a backup for AP responsibilities. Manage journal entries and cross-train to assist with AP tasks. Additional Duties Participate in special projects, such as researching and implementing new accounting software and automating processes. Assist with HR-related tasks, including benefits administration, background checks, and policy updates. Nonprofit Accountant Qualifications: Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience. Experience with nonprofit/fund accounting. Proficiency in database programs, payroll systems, Microsoft Office, and accounting software. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people with disabilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience with grants and grant compliance.
