The service line performs over 10,000 deliveries annually. Corewell Health Butterworth offers maternal fetal medicine care, a fetal care center, and the partnership of the Helen DeVos Childrens' Hospital NICU. It is the flagship hospital for Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals.Scope of workThe Clinical Nurse Specialist is an influential leader for a program or area of nursing practice. The advanced knowledge and skills required for this role include clinical expertise in a labor and delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and newborn care, evidence-based practice, collaboration, consultation, education, mentoring and change leadership. The specialized knowledge and advanced practice nursing skills are used within three major areas of impact: patient/family, nurses and nursing practice and the organization/system.In collaboration with other members of the health care team, the CNS leads, provides, enhances and improves health care delivery by evaluating nursing practices, developing methodologies, establishing standards of care and providing consultative services.
