Job Title: RN Telemetry I Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN License Certifications: AHA BLS; ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Must be able to read telemetry strips - Med/Surg RN with neuro assessment skills and telemetry competency Description: This position requires working nights and every other weekend, totaling 36 hours per week. The unit is a 32-bed Orthopedic/Neuro Med/Surg unit, admitting overflow from other medical areas. The census for the unit is 32 total beds, with 16 beds per section. Travelers are required to float to applicable units when requested. Rotating shifts may be necessary for daytime positions; however, night positions do not rotate. The clinician to patient ratio differs; day and evening shifts have a ratio of 1:4, potentially going up to 5. Night shifts typically maintain a ratio of 1:5 or 1:6. The patient population includes scheduled elective orthopedic and neuro/surgical patients, along with fractures, neuro patients, and medical overflow.
