Performance Foodservice, a leader in food product distribution, is seeking a reliable and experienced CDL Class A Delivery Truck Driver to join our dedicated team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of our extensive range of products directly to our valued customers, ranging from small family establishments to large national chains. As a member of our driving team, you will play a key role in maintaining our reputation for outstanding customer service and on-time delivery. Safely operate a tractor-trailer/truck to deliver products to customers according to the delivery schedule. Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate the delivery vehicle. Follow pre-planned route accurately without deviation. Maintain communication with dispatch and adhere to schedules and routing. Perform vehicle inspections before and after each trip, and report any concerns or damages. Collect payments or signatures from customers while maintaining friendly and professional customer interaction. Adhere to company operating policies and procedures as well as compliance with DOT regulations. Maintain logs of travel, cargo records, and other documentation as required. Strong time management and customer service skills. Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly. Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.). Capability to handle physical workload and manually lift and move heavy items if necessary.
