The Telemetry Nurse monitors and interprets rhythms. The role involves monitoring patient hemodynamic statuses. Adminsisters prescribed cardiac medications and telemetry-approved drips. The Telemetry Nurse must recognize and assist patients in shock or those with life-threatening complications. Assists with emergency and elective cardioversions as well as the insertion of temporary pacemakers. Interacts with patients of various ages, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Communicates effectively on an interdisciplinary level.
