JOB DUTIES: The Quality Engineer will assist in performing incoming quality inspections on parts and components using various precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and visual measuring machines to ensure compliance with specifications. This role supports the management of the Gage Calibration System by following established calibration procedures, coordinating with external calibration laboratories to communicate technical information, and organizing the gauge station layout to improve efficiency and reduce movement. The incumbent will assist in applying the principles of 5S and Lean Manufacturing to maintain cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in the inspection and testing areas. The Quality Engineer will also support an international quality team in completing Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and First Article Inspection (FAI) submissions in accordance with customer-specific requirements. Responsibilities include providing dimensional measurement data for critical features and coordinating with independent laboratories to obtain third-party testing reports as needed. This position requires regular interaction with suppliers and both internal and external customers to resolve technical issues, provide support, and communicate quality expectations. The Quality Engineer will participate in 8D Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) projects by conducting root cause analyses and contributing to the development and implementation of corrective and preventive solutions. Additional duties include assisting in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and quality planning processes to assess and mitigate risks associated with critical parts, ensuring compliance with automotive industry standards. The employee will manage the Quarantined Material Racks and serve as a member of the Material Review Board (MRB), contributing to the disposition of non-conforming materials and ensuring that corrective actions are carried out effectively. The role also involves drafting and maintaining documentation related to quality processes, standard operating procedures, work instructions, CAD drawings, and product specifications. The Quality Engineer will act as an internal auditor for the ISO9001 Quality Management System and provide support in the preparation for and maintenance of ISO9001:2015 certification during annual audit cycles. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will be responsible for supervising and instructing the Cleanroom Clerk in approved cleaning methods, ensuring compliance with cleanliness standards, and providing ongoing technical support in the cleanroom environment.
