Job Title: Senior Statistical Science DirectorJoin AstraZeneca's growing Statistical Innovation team. We focus on providing statistical methodology support across all phases of clinical development for divisions including Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism, Respiratory & Immunology, Vaccine and Immune Therapies, Oncology, and Rare Diseases.What You'll Do: - Provide key input and find solutions at critical stages in the drug development cycle.
- Lead the development of methodologies in areas such as study design, real-time data analysis, estimands, missing data, subgroup analysis, and biomarkers.
- Build and maintain networks with academics, industry peers, and internal teams to drive innovation.
- Develop and implement new methodologies, interacting with external scientists and regulators through publications and collaborations.
- Contribute to internal guidance to embed new methodologies within AstraZeneca's Biometrics team.
- Identify new areas for statistical innovation and develop external collaborations.Essential Qualifications:
- PhD in Statistics or related field with 10+ years of experience.
- Extensive research and clinical development experience, with broad knowledge of statistical methodologies in early and late-phase trials.
- Proficiency in R and/or SAS programming.
- Proven track record of research, publications, and conference presentations.
- Awareness of current statistical issues debated by regulatory authorities.
- Reputation as a leading researcher in statistical methodology for clinical trials, including areas like safety data analysis, subgroup analysis, missing data, estimands, Bayesian methods, causal inference, and trial design.Desirable Skills:
