Career Advisor The Career Advisor provides comprehensive career advising and counseling to students and alumni, supporting their career exploration, major selection, internship and job search strategies, and experiential learning opportunities. This role plays a critical part in preparing students for successful career transitions, whether into the workforce or graduate school. Priority will be given to applications received by May 30th; however, we will continue to review applications on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Essential Functions: This position requires a proactive, student-centered approach and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive career development environment. The Career Advisor will coordinate initiatives that integrate career readiness competency development and career planning into students' academic and personal development. In addition, the role involves frequent interaction with students, faculty, employers, and campus partners in a variety of settings. 1. Career Advising & Student Support: - Provide individualized and group career advising on topics such as career exploration, job and internship searches, networking, and graduate school preparation;
- Assist students in developing career-related skills, including resume and cover letter writing, personal branding, e-portfolio development, and job search strategies;
- Conduct mock interviews (in-person, virtual, and phone) to prepare students for professional opportunities;
- Administer and interpret career assessments (e.g., NACE Career Readiness Assessment, Focus2, StrengthsFinder) to help students gain self-awareness and inform their career decision-making.
2. Career Programming & Employer Engagement: - Develop and deliver dynamic workshops, classroom presentations, and career development programs, including tailored programs such as the Curry Commitment Program;
- Collaborate with faculty, student organizations, and campus partners to integrate career readiness skill development and education into the student experience;
- Support employer engagement initiatives, including on-campus recruiting, employer information sessions, and networking events;
- Assist with planning and executing large-scale career events, such as career fairs, career conferences, and experiential learning opportunities.
3. Internship & Experiential Learning Support: - Advise students on internship opportunities, the application process, and career-related experiential learning options;
- Guide students through the College's internship process and ensure accessibility to experiential learning opportunities.
4. Technology, Research & Administrative Responsibilities: - Use career services technology platforms (e.g., Handshake) to track student engagement and provide career resources;
- Stay informed on industry trends, labor market information, and emerging best practices in career development;
- Research and curate career resources related to various industries, graduate education, and professional development;
- Provide support for application process for scholarships, fellowships, internships, and other student opportunities coordinated through Career & Experiential Learning.
5. Campus & Community Engagement: - Represent Career & Experiential Learning at campus-wide events, including Open Houses, Accepted Student Days, Orientation, and other recruitment and retention programs;
- Foster relationships with students, alumni, and employers to enhance career-related opportunities and partnerships.
Additional Responsibilities The Career Advisor may be required to perform additional duties as needed to support the success of the Career & Experiential Learning Center (CXL). These may include: - Participating in committees and initiatives aligned with the mission and objectives of the CXL.
- Providing backup support for CXL team members.
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional protocols, operational guidelines, and privacy regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Center for Experiential Learning (CXL), Curry College students, and overall student engagement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree Preferred.
- Experience: At least three years of progressively responsible experience in career development, experiential education, or a related field.
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with career services and educational technology platforms such as Banner, Canvas, Handshake, and Qualtrics.
- Leadership: Demonstrated success in administering career advising, internship programs, and outreach initiatives.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making: Experience using data to inform goal setting, planning, and assessment efforts.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of diverse employment sectors, workforce trends, and career pathways.
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
