Responsibilities Clean Harbors, Inc, the nation's largest provider of environmental services, has an immediate opening for a Massachusetts Licensed Wastewater Operator for groundwater treatment facilities. Position Summary: The Wastewater Operator will be responsible for treatment operations and duties will include: - Working with facility staff to ensure treatment system facility operations
- Site operation includes monitoring gauges, meters and control panels and recording and interpreting readings.
- The operator will review and document variations in system operating conditions.
- Maintains shift logs and assists in preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Assists in the operations and maintenance of groundwater treatment equipment, including confined space entry and OSHA-Level C activities and system maintenance and repairs.
- Perform housekeeping, grounds keeping, minor maintenance and other duties, as necessary.
- Collects and process water samples.
The operator coordinates with the management team regarding the purchase of goods and services. Executes and ensures the completion of periodic field inspections to monitor and maintain treatment system operations complete, upkeep, repairs, and installations. The operator documents that equipment is kept up to customer and Clean Harbors standards. In addition, the operator ensures quality control and verifies that established protocols are being followed including the use of PPE, proper operating/ sampling procedures, and maintenance procedures. From time to time the work will involve walking, standing , sitting, lifting, work using ladders or scaffolding and confined space entry .Maintenance work at times may involve assisting with pipe, valve, pump and other mechanical treatment system operation and maintenance or equipment replacement requiring physical activity and the ability to lift to 50 pounds The Wastewater Treatment Operator may also be required at times to work weekends on a rotating basis.
