The Director of People and Culture will lead and manage all aspects of Human Resources to ensure strategic alignment with the organization's mission, compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and the cultivation of a workplace culture that attracts, develops, supports, and retains high-performing employees. They will act as a key advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team on all HR matters and serve as the primary liaison to union representatives.Schedule: This position is full-time, exempt, and onsite 5 days a week (35 hours/week) with the option to work 1 day remote once training has completed. No nights or weekends.Compensation: Starting annual salary is $125,000 negotiable based on experience. Enjoy benefits that start as of day 1 of employment and our generous paid time off package.Job Activities: - Translate the organization's strategic goals into HR operational plans that foster a culture of excellence and impact across all programs.
- Act as the primary contact for union representatives, ensuring collaborative labor relations and effective contract negotiations.
- Serve as a resource to managers and senior leadership for performance management, legal compliance, and progressive discipline processes.
- Lead, develop and implement effective HR policies and procedures.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement initiatives to support workforce development and retention strategies, including staff surveys, recognition programs, and engagement events.
- Establish effective conflict resolution processes, open lines of communication, and clear chains of command to improve relationships throughout the agency.
- Lead in supervising, mentoring, and training HR team members to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Implement and manage a comprehensive benefits and compensation program, ensuring equity and compliance with organizational objectives.
- Oversee the organization's Safety Committee and ensure compliance with PFMLA, ADA, unemployment, Worker's Compensation, and health and safety regulations.
- Represent the HR department as needed in meetings of the Board of Directors.
