Overview The is dedicated to the advancement of basic biology and biomedicine, and to using an integrated approach to control biological structure and function. Through a combination of molecular genetics, biophysics, and computational approaches, researchers at the Center work toward a multi-level control of patterning. Novel technology is being developed to modulate the bioelectric communication that enables cells to coordinate their activities toward specific anatomical and functional outcomes. This new type of epigenetic control has significant implications for developmental biology, evolution, unconventional computation, and synthetic bioengineering. Applications in progress include the repair of birth defects, regenerative medicine, cancer reprogramming, and synthetic biology. What You'll Do We are seeking a skilled Research Lab Technician to join our project on mammalian limb regeneration. The Research Technician will work closely with a senior scientist at our Center, and report to our Administrative Director. An employee in this position should have experience performing animal microsurgery, immunohistochemistry (IHC) and tissue sectioning and will: - Conduct routine and specialized experiments
- Record results and assist with data analysis
- Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies
What We're Looking For Basic Requirements: - Knowledge and skills as typically acquired by a Bachelor's degree in Biology, or Biomedical science, or related discipline
- Comfortable working with animal models
- Good manual dexterity and coordination are required, as this role demands precision in handling delicate meticulous surgical work on small animal models (mice)
- A strong understanding of animal physiology, anatomy, and ethics in research Preferred Qualifications:
