Join a proven team for growth, success, and a satisfying career!About the role:This is an exciting phase in our team s growth that has created a unique opportunity to be involved in the re-design and direction of Blount s modern data strategy. You will be working on the Data and Analytics team responsible for building and deploying the next-generation data analytics platform that will transform our data culture, as well as contribute to projects and initiatives within the Digital and Technology team.What you ll do:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data-driven insights into business processes and reportingParticipate in the advancement and migration of Blount s technology stack using best of breed data engineering and business intelligence toolsManage and enhance our modern data stack (Snowflake + Matillion + dbt + Power BI)Design and manage our data models and departmental data marts using dbtPrepare, cleanse, and transform data for ad hoc analysis and prebuilt reporting purposesDesign, develop, and maintain data pipelines to collect, process, and transform large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sourcesTriage and communicate issues impacting data pipelines, project execution, and solution deliveryApply software development best practices to analytics code (i.e. version control, automated, testing, and continuous integration)Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and analytics to drive continuous improvement here at BlountMaintain data documentation and definitions to enable self-service and data-driven analyticsParticipate in daily scrum meetings and collaborate with other agile team membersParticipate in code reviews and promote the adoption of best practicesParticipate in implementing best practices for data quality, data governance, and data securityTrain end-users on the data analytics and visualization tools owned by the teamWhat experience we re looking for:3+ years of professional experience with modern data platform solutions and analytics toolsBachelor s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent professional experienceSQL knowledge and experience working with cloud data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, AWS Redshift, or Google BigQueryDemonstrated proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Sigma, etc., to effectively communicate insights and trends from complex datasets.Experience with ELT workflows, patterns, and vendor tools such as Matillion, Talend, or SnapLogicKnowledge of modern data modeling and transformation tools such as dbtExperience with Agile Software development practices (story grooming, spring planning, and retrospectives)Strong desire to and aptitude for learning new technologies and patternsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage colleagues and stakeholders across all levels of the organizationExperience with these technologies is a plus:SnowflakeMatillionData Build Tools (dbt)Power BIPython More...
