Director, Insurance Risk - Boston Massachusetts

Based within the Treasury Risk and Insurance team in Corporate Treasury, this role serves as a resource for top management and the entire organization regarding insurance and provides direction concerning risk management and available transfer solutions.The main functions of this role include structuring and implementing sound insurance protection to cover operational and business risks. This involves the identification, evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of proper risk control techniques to finance those risks as well as methods to mitigate possible losses. To successfully complete these responsibilities, the ideal candidate will be capable of supporting multiple projects across varying areas of focus. They will be able to effectively contribute to sophisticated analysis, can multi-task, and be a great teammate who thrives in a small, impactful work environment. The Value You Deliver

  • Conducting the identification and quantification of the risk of loss.
  • Implementing and leading complex insurance placement(s) and reporting results to senior business unit management.
  • Coordinating task responsibility with other departments to ensure timely, accurate information flow for underwriting.
  • Reviewing third party contracts to ensure the company's interests and exposures have been considered and effectively avoided, controlled or financed.
  • Handling insurable claims.
  • Validating adherence to regulatory insurance requirements.
  • Delivering multiple work streams simultaneously.
  • May be supervising department personnel. The Expertise and Skills You Bring Bachelor's degree required with 8+ year(s) in insurance and risk management. Work experience in financial institutions is a plus.Ability to apply risk and insurance related strategies including contractual review, identification of insurance related solutions, detection of gaps in coverage, compliance with regulatory requirements, recommending improvements and evaluating effectiveness of current and future insurance programs. Knowledge and experience with -leading sophisticated insurance programs. Effective in participating in a variety of different projects and collaborating with varying team members.Strong prioritization skills in dealing with ambitious demands.Strong analytical reasoning skills and ability to synthesize information to enable strategic decision-making.Proven written and oral communication skills - can articulate clearly with all levels of employees.Keen attention to detail combined with the ability to summarize findings in an organized, professional manner.Strong organizational navigator who collaborates effectively. This cohesive team works closely together to cross-train and provide support on all insurance coverages.
    • Leads all aspects of delivery and administration of Fidelity's insurance programs.
    • Identifies, measures, and addresses risks with potential for financial impact on company operations.
