This non-licensed clinical staff position has an impact on reducing patient harm by preparing and maintaining sterile fields and equipment and on physician satisfaction and the overall effectiveness of the surgical services team by anticipating their needs.Job Description:QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Experience:Required: - Graduate of an accredited or US Armed Forces Surgical Technologists school and/or program or employed as a Surgical Technologist at a surgical facility on or before July 1, 2013.Preferred: - At least one year operating room scrub experienceOther Skills/Knowledge:Required:

• Basic computer skills
• For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital teamLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS: - Required: - - Must obtain Surgical Technician Certification within 12 months of graduation date.Preferred: Current Surgical Technician Certification upon hireNote: -Surgical Technologists that were employed as Surgical Technologists in a surgical facility prior to July 1, 2013 -are exempted from the certification requirement, as allowed by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
