Technology R&D Principal (Accenture LLP; Boston, MA): Accenture LLP has multiple openings for the position of Technology R&D Principal in Boston, MA, and the job duties are as follows: - Lead the Smart and Sustainable Materials initiative at Future Technologies R&D by driving research operations and research agenda on applications of materials technologies and physical sciences for environmental sustainability and for designing interactive systems.
- Support fiscal year planning, budget management, and recruitment, and people development for smart materials, emerging energy technologies, and biotechnology initiatives.
- Identify, establish, and lead collaborations through academic partnerships and joint research projects that combine materials to create new systems or develop new materials for use in products and applications.
- Plan laboratory experiments involving new material systems to confirm feasibility of processes and techniques and publish research outcomes to stakeholders through white papers, conferences, journal papers, and other academic texts highlighting new technologies and documenting proof-of-concepts.
- Provide subject matter expertise on sustainable materials and their industry applications and share technical and business knowledge both internally and externally to facilitate joint research projects with clients and other industry innovation groups.
- Establish new client engagement opportunities by identifying applicability of materials research to industry use cases.
- Lead client co-innovation projects that focus on applications of emerging technologies to business challenges around sustainability, environmental monitoring, and resilience. Deliver functional MVPs and prototypes to clients and develop pre-commercialization and commercialization roadmaps for the technology offerings.
- Conduct user experience studies and workshops to understand adaptability and applications of smart materials.
- Present research to external audiences and develop new partnerships with vendors and universities through conferences and seminars.
- Generate knowledge assets and intellectual property relating to new material technologies and systems for Accenture through patents, and academic publications.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a master's degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Sustainable Energy, Biotechnology, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, plus 2 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in research and development.
