ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYWe are accepting applications for Special Education teachers in all grades for the 2024-2025 school year. Special Education positions are based at our PreK-5 elementary school on 100 Poydras St. in Hyde Park, our 6-8 middle school on 215 Forest Hills St. in Jamaica Plain, or our high school on 1001 Commonwealth Ave. in Brighton.We are only able to consider applicants who have current US work authorization.The salary range for teachers new to Match is $61,819-98,899 and is determined by the candidate's prior years of full-time teaching experience. Match offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 90% coverage of employee health insurance costs and up to $150/month in loan repayment assistance. We make it a high priority to effectively support students with disabilities at Match. Over 20% of Match students are on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Special Education Teachers provide instruction and support to students with IEPs. The Special Education Teacher reports to the Special Education Director at their school campus and is responsible for: - Providing inclusion support and instruction in regular education classes containing IEP students, and when absolutely necessary, teaching separate classes.
- Helping to manage the school's Special Education programing including, but not limited to: completion of necessary paperwork and filing, teacher professional development, management of parent and student communication, administration of student testing/screening, and upholding of applicable Department of Elementary and Secondary Education compliance requirements.
- Upholding high academic and behavioral expectations for students, and provide lots of support for getting students there;
- Participating actively in Match's coaching and professional development programming;
- Assisting with school programming as needed during non-instructional time; and
