MedStar Health, a leading non-profit healthcare organization serving the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a dedicated and skilled RN Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOCN) to join our team. This position focuses on providing specialized nursing care to patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence disorders. The WOCN will play a critical part in our patient-first philosophy by offering expert care, educating patients and staff, and improving the quality of life for our patients through exceptional medical services. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of wound care management, ostomy care, and continence management, and will be able to apply evidence-based practices to support patient outcomes. Assess patient conditions and formulate individualized care plans for wound, ostomy, and continence care. Implement and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare team members. Educate patients, families, and staff about effective management of wounds, ostomies, and continence issues. Monitor patient progress and make adjustments to care plans as necessary. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Participate in research and continuous education related to wound, ostomy, and continence nursing.
