A Day in the Life of a MRI Technologist: - Perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures as prescribed by a physician
- Instruct patients on proper physiological requirements for the procedure
- Prepare patients for exams, administer contrast, and assist at the end of procedures
- Maintain clean, safe, orderly work area and observe OSHA and HIPAA requirements
- Recognize reactions to contrast media and intervene when necessary
Here is what you will need: - Graduation from high school or equivalent and completion of a training program in imaging technology
- Registered in MR within one year of employment
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation within 90 days of employment
- Valid state radiology registration as required by state law
