They are looking to bring on a Purchasing Agent to their team that will be responsible in procuring subcontractors and services related to necessary construction trades. Their portfolio includes building new facilities as well as renovations, restorations and modernizations of large-scale Commercial/Office, Education/Campus, Embassy, Industrial/Manufacturing, Life Sciences and Healthcare, Military/Government, Mission Critical, Data Centers, Museums, Religious/Cultural, Residential Mixed-Use/Hotel, Transportation, and Aviation projects. • Assist in procuring subcontractors and services related to construction trades for company projects
• Develop scopes of work
• Solicit subcontractors and supplier pricing through phone calls and emails
• Understand and interpret specs
• Write and clearly define scopes of work to portray back to subcontractors to obtain proper pricing
• Perform interviews of potential subcontractors and vendors and document for future use
• Negotiate with subcontractors and other parties on the phone to build relationshipsProfile
  • Technical proficiency in construction
  • Strong communication skills, particularly on the phone
  • Previous experience in purchasing, estimating, or related field is preferred
  • Field experience is a plus
  • Must understand how to read and interpret spects
  • Ability to work well in a team environmes
