Senior Director, Supply Chain Position Summary: ----The Senior Director, Supply Chain is responsible for leading the supply chain organization for Catalent Maryland. Catalent Maryland is a commercial Gene Therapy manufacturing facility with ten suites actively operating and eight additional suites coming online.Reporting to the Vice President and General Manager, the Senior Director Supply Chain directs all facets of supply chain management including, but not limited to, purchasing, sourcing, logistics, warehousing, inventory management and control, material forecasting, functional capacity planning and sourcing, S&OP planning, and financial costing. This includes the deployment of common systems, improved processes and advanced technology to drive continuous improvement in supply chain optimization.This position is also responsible for ensuring activities of all assigned personnel result in the successful, timely and cost-effective processing of orders to insure customer and stakeholder satisfaction.Catalent is committed to a Patient First culture through excellence in quality and compliance, and to the safety of every patient, consumer and Catalent employee.The Role: -- - Creates the strategic direction of supply chain and customer-oriented process to maximize customer satisfaction, while optimizing cost effectiveness and inventory levels
- Partners with GM and site leadership in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives related to Supply Chain activities.
- Work with the global and internal stakeholders to develop and optimize site supply chain processes that maximizes customer satisfaction, while optimizing cost effectiveness.
- Liaise with operations, project managers, business development and clients in all aspects of procurement, receipting, warehousing and supply of supplies.
- Develops and implements an appropriate site procurement process that optimizes inventory and working capital and concurrently links with finance and business development to ensure a process of business recovery of cost changes as appropriate.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards related to procurement.
- Develop and continuously improve supplier programs.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop enhancements and implement an appropriate process for capacity planning and S&OP.
- Manage buying/planning function to ensure effective work order/purchase order creation and maintenance.
- Partner with Global Procurement on the strategic purchasing function in vendor selection and negotiation to obtain most favorable pricing, service, and terms
- Is responsible for driving performance improvements in the key indicators for supply chain optimization.
- Design and use metrics to improve processes and ensure optimal use of systems
- Develops and sustains customer relationships through direct interaction, responsiveness and accountability.
- Insures compliance with all corporate and applicable regulatory SOP and cGMP guidelines.
- Manages processes to optimize quality performance and on-time delivery to insure customer satisfaction.
- Establishes annual goals and objectives, (including stretch targets) in coordination with corporate objectives, and manages performance to ensure attainment.
- Establishes through visual management and continually enhances self-sustaining processes that drive associate involvement and support decision-making at the lowest possible level.
- Supervises Buyers, Planners, Procurement Specialists, S&OP Analysts, Distribution, and Warehouse Managers.

- Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, Supply Chain/Logistics, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressively increasing managerial experience in supply chain and a production environment.
- Experience with Biologic Drug Substance and raw materials preferred.
- Must possess and demonstrate strong motivational and leadership qualities.
- Experience with Cold Chain.
- Possess and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Possess excellent proactive problem-solving analytical and negotiation skills.
- Possess ability to create team-based environment.
- Possess extensive knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
- Well organized, detail-oriented, possess ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, focused, work well under pressure.
- Must be dependable and show initiative to improve the overall throughput and financial goals of the organization.
- Possess knowledge of cGMP regulations and practices.
- Must possess the ability to bridge relationships with a variety of individuals and between various departments and levels of the organization.
- CPM and or APICS certification a plus.
- Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.Why you should join Catalent:
