R&D Technician - Elkton Maryland

About the Role: We are looking for an R&D Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work with scientists and engineers to support projects for our Automotive and Electronic businesses. This associate will provide evening shift support in a hands-on testing role requiring quick turnaround times while executing high-quality work. As a member of this team, you will have opportunities to influence and participate in continuous improvement and team development initiatives while working closely with a diverse team to drive and accomplish business goals and objectives. This role will be located in Elkton, Maryland. Responsibilities: - Perform lab functions accurately and efficiently, including but not limited to hands-on testing, sample preparation, and test method development
- Write and implement test procedures
- Operate and maintain test equipment
- Keep accurate records
- Analyze and interpret data using Microsoft Office Applications and statistical tools such as JMP software
- Communicate results, issues, and trends
- Active participation in making product quality decisions is expected
- Partner with internal customers on characterization and validation projects to implement new test capabilities and methods
Required Qualifications: - Minimum of associate degree in a scientific subject/or an engineering discipline with a minimum of 1 year experience working in a testing lab
- Minimum 1 year experience working in an (IATF) International Automotive Task Force Quality Certified Business
- Strong math skills including knowledge of basic statistics. Experience using Excel or equivalent is required
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
- Ability to perform quality controlled and non-routine R&D testing with timeliness and accuracy
- Ability to make detailed and accurate observations
- Ability to set priorities, effectively organize, and adapt to changing work environment

- Ability to effectively identify and proactively communicate results and work with the appropriate associates to resolve any issues
- Ability to write and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Ability to travel up to 5%
