With a goal of becoming the most trusted name in premium proteins, we create products for consumers and for retail and foodservice customers around the globe, while changing the way animals are raised for food.SummaryWe are recruiting for a FSQA and Facility and Safety Coordinator to lead the direction and execution of all plant facility safety, food safety and quality functions to support Perdue s goals and ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies. Monitor/verify production SSOP/HACCP records. Monitor plant GMP s and other pre-requisite programs daily. Be proactive in the identification of problems before they develop utilizing SPC tools or other tracking/trending analysis skills as necessary. Act as plant authority on all food safety, Quality and Safety matters and work in conjunction with the Plant Supervisor and staff to ensure product safety and facility safety is always maintained.Principal and Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesManages all activities of Food Safety, Quality and Facility Safety in a manner which results in consistent results as measured through the company matrix and regulatory mandates.Develop, document, and implement processes/procedures to ensure product safety is always monitored and maintained.Work with corporate safety and lead all Safety and Regulatory efforts as outlined by OSHA and corporate policy at the facility. (Past work history of OSHA/facility safety is not required as training will be offered)Enforces Perdue s food safety standards as outlined in the plants HACCP, GMP, Lm, Salmonella Standards, and other programs. Maintain all required documentation. Provide leadership and be an active member of all project teams to ensure food safety concerns are addressed.Maintain open communications with Corporate QA, Corporate Safety, and management to ensure each are aware of any potential safety related concerns with product or facility.Develop a professional working relationship and act as a plant liaison with USDA staff.Ensure Perdue s food safety programs are properly communicated, and plant employees have a working knowledge of the programs through training and mentoring.Assist with Pilot Plant production trials as needed.Performs annual GMP and Safety training in addition to new hire trainings.Minimum Education and ExperienceREQUIRED: Associates degree or higher in the area of poultry, meat, or food science with a minimum of 2 years experience in a HACCP, QA, food safety or a supervisory role.Good analytical and communication (both oral and written) skills. Knowledge of poultry/Food processing principles; Understanding of management principles and team concepts. General knowledge of plant functions production, maintenance; warehouse; shipping and sanitation.PREFERRED: HACCP Certified and strong HACCP, USDA regulatory and SSOP skills. Knowledge of plant audits and labeling. Environmental Factors and Physical RequirementsPosition is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.When in a plant environment:Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.Perdue Farms, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
