About the Role: We are looking for a Facilities Industrial Electrical Technician to join our Performance Solutions (PS) Facilities Team who will be responsible for electrical repairs, maintenance, design, installation, and troubleshooting on all types of facilities-oriented equipment (air handlers, chillers, pumps, compressors, oxidizers, wastewater systems, bulk fluid tanks and distribution, etc). The skilled, self-motivated, service-oriented individual will provide support for our PS locations in the region (Elkton, Maryland & Newark, Delaware). This role will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland. Please note that evening, night and weekend shift positions are eligible for an additional $2/hour shift differential pay (in California, the shift differential pay is $2.40/hour). Responsibilities: - Support the design, installation, startup, validation and troubleshooting of the electrical control systems for facility-oriented equipment
- Architect, write, and debug PLC ladder logic and graphical interface software (HMI) with an emphasis on generating code that is organized, structured, documented and maintainable
- Apply formal problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot, determine root cause, develop and implement corrective and preventative action plans
- Be responsible for testing and validating equipment setpoint changes and modifications, while ensuring change management procedures are followed
- Create and update documentation and procedures
- Apply OSHA, NEC, NFPA, UL508A codes
- Execute preventative maintenance work orders individually as well as in partnership with external service providers
- Design team member supporting equipment reviews and providing feedback to ensure design is meeting all applicable codes, specifications and internal customer requirements
- Interface with facility engineers, at a conceptual level, to implement designs, modifications and other task required to maintain efficient equipment operation
- Identify and lead opportunities to continuously improve our equipment and processes
Required Qualifications: - Journey level electrical skills with minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in an industrial production facility directly supporting facilities equipment and infrastructure
- Experience with process instrumentation (including PLC, controllers, and variable speed motor drives) configuration, installation, and troubleshooting
- Experience reading, working from, reviewing, and updating electrical drawings and schematics
- Demonstrated experience working independently as well as with cross-functional teams
- Basic understanding of networking and operating systems as related to automation controls
- Proven track record of critical thinking, active learning and problem solving with the ability to navigate technical and project uncertainties.
- Ability to effectively and proactively communicate both verbally and in writing via Microsoft office products
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment, including working from adders, aerial lifts, and wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to effectively manage and document equipment validation activities
- Ability to work overtime, perform on-call duties after normal working hours as part of a rotating on-call schedule and ability to travel up to 5%
