Description:We are looking for warm, wonderful, and experienced Special Education teachers for our newest program; Preschool+Preschool+ is a new program designed to meet the needs of children, ages 3-5 years old, who currently have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and who could benefit from additional supports provided by Georgetown Hill while in our care.Georgetown Hill Early School is a non-profit school serving Maryland families' preschool, elementary, and childcare needs since 1980. Our mission is to join teachers, children, and their families to create an unsurpassed early childhood educational experience.We are seeking Lead & Assistant Teachers to join our Preschool+ program at our newest campus.Congressional Plaza - located in Rockville (metro accessible)The payrate for this position is as follows:

• $60K annually and up for qualified and experienced Lead Teachers
• $41K annually and up for qualified and experienced Assistant TeachersAvailable positions are full time, year-round, and the hours are within 8am - 5pm. Your role will be to meet our students' individual needs and foster each child's independence in a family-like environment of trust and warmth.What You Will Do:
  • Provide for the educational needs and interests of preschool children using a creative and age-appropriate curriculum
  • Supervision of preschool children to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of all students
  • Support the physical, socio-emotional, and developmental needs of each child in the classroom
  • Demonstrate effective leadership among the classroom team
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills and positive interpersonal relations with children, families, colleagues, and community
  • Classroom management that fosters a consistent, safe, and positive learning environment for all students and staffRequirements:Our ideal candidates must have 2 plus years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:
    • Lead candidates must have at least a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education (ECE), Early Childhood Special Ed., Elem. Education, Elem. Special Ed. - A Master's Degree is preferred.
    • Assistant Candidates must have 90-hour preschool, some experience in early, childhood classroom; special education experience is preferred
    • Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and instructional strategies
    • Strong knowledge of MSDE regulations
    • A personal demeanor that is warm, friendly, and cool-tempered
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and reading skills
    • Extremely reliable in attendance and punctuality
    • Highly organized and able to prioritize and multi-task
    • Team-oriented and willing to work with others
    • Proficient technological skills including Microsoft Office is a plusPer Maryland State Department of Education Office of Child Care regulations, all applicants must submit to and successfully pass a state and federal background check as a contingency of employment.
