The role involves working with residents with Alzheimer's and dementia, tailoring care to meet their individual needs. Key aspects of this position include the use of verbal and non-verbal communication techniques. Understanding difficult behaviors associated with residents that have Alzheimer's and Dementia is essential. Recognizing that these behaviors can be valid forms of communication is part of the role. The RN provides necessary care to residents needing long-term placement in a home-like environment. The unit provides short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation services to patients recovering from various illnesses or injuries. Nursing services may include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management. Flexibility is required to cover shifts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Floating to other units may be required as needed. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for education and experience requirements.
