Summary for the Senior Systems Engineer: An SSA role is critical in maintaining and optimizing the bank's IT infrastructure and ensuring secure and efficient operation of our banking systems. Qualifications for the Senior Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.Proven experience as a Sr. Systems Administrator or in a similar role in the banking or finance industry.Strong comprehension of security frameworks, principles and best practices.Strong understanding of server management, system architecture, and network protocols.Strong understanding of virtualization platforms (i.e., Hyper-V, VMware).Knowledge of database administration, preferably with SQL ServerExperience with cloud technologies and services.Strong understanding of networking, storage, and server architecture concepts.Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure.Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in the banking industry.Experience with scripting and automation tools for system management.Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtual environments.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly attitude.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong presentation skills Specific Job Functions for the Senior Systems EngineerManage and maintain the bank's IT systems and servers to ensure optimal performance and security.Monitor system performance, metrics and SLA's.Collaborate with IT staff to implement system upgrades and new technologies.Provide technical support and mentoring to junior staff.Manage documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.Implement and enforce security protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards.Manage and maintain virtualization infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.Conduct regular system backups and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.Perform regular maintenance updates and patches.Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to find ways to improve our systems and processesParticipate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as neededContribute and on various committees.
