Job Summary Details: The Caretaker is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and care of the grounds within the school district. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to manage a team of grounds staff, ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of landscaping, lawns, athletic fields, outdoor areas, snow removal, sanding, light carpentry, minor plumbing, and other minor maintenance duties as needed. The Caretaker will collaborate with the Facilities Director and other stakeholders to create a safe, clean, and visually appealing environment for students, staff, and visitors. Schedule: Monday to Friday (7:00 am - 3:30 pm) Pay Rate: $23.50 to $24.04 per hour The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. - High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education or certifications in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in grounds maintenance and supervision, preferably in an educational or similar setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise staff effectively.
- Knowledge of grounds maintenance techniques, landscaping principles, and horticultural practices.
- Understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to grounds maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment and tools.
- Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software applications.
