Doctor of Medicine | Surgery - Cardiothoracic Location: Lafayette, LA Employer: VieMed Healthcare Staffing Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position Position: Cardiovascular (CV) Surgeon – Full-Time, Permanent Location: Lafayette, Louisiana Address: 1214 Coolidge Street, Lafayette, LA 70503 Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiovascular Surgeon to join our esteemed surgical team in Lafayette, Louisiana. This full-time, permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to practice comprehensive cardiovascular surgical care in a collaborative environment committed to excellence and patient-centered outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert inpatient rounding for cardiovascular patients, ensuring optimal perioperative care and management. Conduct surgical consultations, developing personalized treatment plans for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. Perform a wide range of cardiovascular procedures including Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), Thoracotomies, Lobectomies, Aortic Valve Replacements, and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) repairs. Manage emergency room call coverage, providing critical urgent care services as needed. Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team consisting of two experienced Cardiovascular Surgeons and three Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to ensure seamless patient care delivery. Procedural Volume: Approximately 90 surgeries and procedures per month, reflecting a high-volume, dynamic surgical practice. Qualifications & Skills: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree with board certification in Cardiovascular Surgery or General Surgery with specialization. Valid medical license to practice in Louisiana or eligible for licensure. Demonstrated experience in performing complex cardiovascular procedures with proficiency in minimally invasive techniques and thoracic surgeries. Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
