Essential Functions:Technical point of contact for internal customers related to controls related equipment issues.Troubleshooting issues with hardware and automated processes.Design new equipment or redesign existing equipment, and coordinate its fabrication, assembly, installation, and startup.Coordinate with external engineering contractors to ensure project timing, quality, and cost targets.Lead the review process of newly designed equipment as well as the commissioning process.Provide hands-on programming/debug/troubleshooting of automated equipment.Provide troubleshooting assistance to production and maintenance team members.Provide troubleshooting and programming guidance on Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000/Studio500 PLCs.Provide analysis, evaluation, and review of problems regarding automation, equipment, and material handling.Provide training to production and maintenance team members.Responsible for creating and maintaining all written software program instructions.Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and PrinciplesOther duties as assigned by manager.Competencies:Teamwork: ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team of salaried and hourly workers to troubleshoot and resolve facility related issues.Innovative: explores new technology or the application of existing technology in new ways to solve issues efficiently.Task Oriented: self-motivated to accomplish given tasks in a timely manner.Qualifications Required:Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Controls, or an equivalent amount of experience working with industrial control systemsMust have experience programming and designing automated equipment.Experience working with industrial control systems.Allen Bradley PLCs: PLC-5 and RSLogix 5000/Studio 5000Allen Bradley motion control: Kinetix and Powerflex AC drivesFactoryTalk ViewProficient reading and creating electrical drawings.Proficient using AutoCAD or an equivalent drafting software package.Qualifications Desired:3-5 years of experience working as a controls engineer.Experience programming robotic systems.Experience with vision systems.Experience using Ignition software package.Other Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 50 poundsMay require minimal travel for training purposes.We offer an excellent compensation and benefits package, which includes 401k, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, company paid holidays, paid vacations, and education assistance.NSG Group/Pilkington is an equal opportunity employer; M/F/D/V encouraged to apply.
