Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: CCU - Coronary Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/25/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours - Employment Type: Travel Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Critical Care Unit (CCU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift contract opportunity. This role is ideal for a nurse with strong critical thinking abilities and recent ICU/CCU experience who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Schedule Details - Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) - Hours: 36 hours per week - Call: None - Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend (Saturday & Sunday) - Additional Requirement: Must work a minimum of 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays within a 6-week scheduling period Responsibilities - Provide direct care to critically ill cardiac and medical ICU patients - Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuous monitoring - Manage ventilators, drips, and advanced cardiac monitoring equipment - Administer medications and titrate vasoactive infusions per protocol - Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition - Collaborate with intensivists, cardiologists, and interdisciplinary teams - Maintain accurate and timely documentation - Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans Qualifications - Active RN license (state-specific or compact license, as applicable) - Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/CCU experience required - Current BLS and ACLS certifications required - Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills - Experience with critical care equipment and titratable drips - Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills About American Consultants Since 1989, American Consultants has been the leader in national healthcare staffing and consulting services.
