JOB TITLE: Animal Scientist (Multiple Openings)

JOB LOCATION: 15745 Rd W11, Norton, KS 67654 (Norton County)

JOB DUTIES: Responsible for evaluating, developing, and implementing animal health, reproduction, nutrition, and welfare programs. Specific duties include: (1) Managing, evaluating, and development animal health programs within cattle operations, including detecting and monitoring animals for signs of illness, providing related health treatments, and separating sick/injured animals; (2) Monitoring and assisting in animal reproduction programs, including detecting estrus, synchronizing heat, selecting animals for breeding and semen selection, assisting in breeding and calving, and performing pregnancy checks; (3) Administering routine and seasonal vaccination and medications to cattle and maintaining detailed records; (4) Monitoring and evaluating animal feeding and nutrition programs, including evaluating animal weight and growth patterns; (5) Monitoring and maximizing animal welfare and handling, including care of pregnant cattle and calves to ensure proper animal handling; (6) Performing recordkeeping regarding animal health, reproduction, growth, and development. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, or related. Housing benefit available.
