Overview: Saint John Hospital is seeking a full time, day shift Surgical Nurse Manager, internally referred to as our Nursing Manager in the Operating Room (OR) at St John Hospital (Leavenworth, KS), a member of Prime Healthcare. As an OR Nurse Manager for outpatient surgery procedures, you will oversee all aspects of patient care, resource management, and operational efficiency to ensure safe and effective outcomes for patients undergoing surgical interventions. This is a complex role that will involve coordination, supervision, and clinical oversight. Responsibilities: Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): - responsible for ensuring adequate staffing levels for outpatient procedures in the Operating Room (OR), which may involve creating schedules, assigning staff, and coordinating with other departments to meet patient needs while optimizing efficiency
- manage resources within the OR, including medical equipment, supplies, and medications required for outpatient procedures, including that all necessary materials are available and in good working condition
- as the RN Manager for the OR, you will supervise patient care coordination throughout outpatient surgery procedures, ensure patients are adequately prepared, coordinate with anesthesia providers, and oversee post-procedure care and recovery
- ensure that all outpatient procedures in the OR meet regulatory and quality standards, which involves adherence to infection control protocols, patient safety measures, and compliance with relevant policies and procedures
- provide clinical supervision and support to Operating Room staff, including circulating nurses, scrub nurses, surgical technologists, and other support personnel, you may also provide guidance on patient care issues, assist with complex cases, and facilitate staff training and development
- ensure effective teamwork and coordination, facilitate communication among surgical team members, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals involved in outpatient procedures and throughout the perioperative process Qualifications: Education and Work Experience

- BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintained current
- current ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintained current
- minimum of two years supervisory/management experience
- e at least two (2) years of experience in Surgical Nursing Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:
