We partner with our Nurses at Overland Park Regional Medical Center!Job Summary and QualificationsCVICU nurses work quickly, efficiently, independently, and meticulously. -In order to treat the most critical patients in the most thorough manner, critical care nurses use their specialized skills and extensive knowledge of disease pathology to provide interventions that sustain life.About this unit: - The Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) is a fast paced, high acuity, team-work based unit focused on the care of the cardiac patient.
- Nurses are responsible for the medical management and post procedure care of the acute cardiac patient.
- Nurses maintain multiple advanced competencies (pacemaker, Swan-Ganz catheter, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump-IABP, Impella, Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation-ECMO, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy-CRRT) while caring for this acutely-ill patientsResponsibilities:
- Under the general direction of the Director or Manager, coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care. Nursing care is provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, applicable state Nursing Practice Acts, ANA Standards of Practice, and the generic and unit structure standards.
- The Staff Nurse in CVICU provides care for newborn/pediatric patients between 2 weeks to 11 years of age; adolescent patients between 12 to 17 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older. Adaptable and flexible with the ever changing acuity and census. Assignments may change according to the census or change of acuity in the patient. -What qualifications you will need:
