We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsWomen's Surgical nurses utilize high-level critical thinking skills, have vast clinical knowledge, are able to stay calm under pressure, and work with minimal supervision. An RN in this role is familiar with complex medical histories, innovative surgical procedures, and pain modalities. About this unit:
  • 5 bed Women's Surgical Unit; private rooms.
  • 1:4 ratio.
  • Provide care to patients undergoing total abdominal/robotic laparoscopic hysterectomies, vaginal hysterectomies, anterior/posterior repairs, vulvectomies, mastectomies with tissue expanders, mastectomies with DIEP flap reconstruction, TRAM flap reconstruction and latissimus dorsi flaps.
  • Lots of room for growth (charging, precepting, unit council certification).
  • Full-Time Night position 7pm - 7am; 3 12-hour shifts per week including rotating weekends.Responsibilities:
    • Under the general direction of the Nursing Director or Manager, -coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care.
    • Nursing care is provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, applicable state Nursing Practice Acts, ANA Standards of Practice, and the generic and unit structure standards.What Qualifications You Will Need: -
      • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required, BSN preferred.
      • Current Registered Nurse/RN licensure or multi-state compact license required.
      • Ability to achieve and maintain BCLS certification required. Obtain ACLS within 90 days of hire.
      • Minimum one-year prior Registered Nurse/RN experience required. Previous clinical experience in area of specialty preferred. is a 340+ bed facility offering acute medical services to our patients. We are Johnson County's only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center. We have an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center.
