• Practice Settings: Emergency Department; teaching hospital
• Patients Per Day: ED volume averages 77 patients per day; 33,000 annual visits
• Support Staff: 1-2 physicians during day hours; 1 physician during night hours; 1-2 APPs; supervision of APPs expected
• Beds: 250
• Trauma Level: 3
• No inpatient responsibilities
• Transfer out rate less than 3%
• ED physician coverage responsibilities
• Peak hours 11a-11p

Requirements

• Board: Board Certified in Family Practice (FP) or ABEM
• Certifications: ACLS & PALS through AHA (waived if ER boarded); ATLS for trauma privileges
• Licenses: Active Iowa license or IMLC
• Clean background
• Availability for July (if active IA license) and/or August (if active IMLC)
• Ability to get privileged quickly, no lengthy work histories
