Nurse Practitioner | Wound, Burn & Ostomy Location: California Employer: Barton Associates Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position We are seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner for a 14-day assignment in California, commencing Mar 13, 2026. This role involves providing comprehensive wound care within skilled nursing and long-term care facilities, requiring travel between sites. The successful candidate will perform thorough wound assessments and treatment for a diverse patient population, with a guaranteed minimum of 5 hours of pay per day, ensuring focused clinical practice and collaboration with interdisciplinary care teams. Responsibilities and Duties Provide care within Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs), long-term care facilities, and post-acute rehab centers. Operate as a mobile provider, traveling between facilities. Practice independently with collaborative support. Collaborate closely with Directors of Nursing (DONs), facility nurses, attending physicians, interdisciplinary care teams, and rehab staff. Perform comprehensive wound assessments, including staging (pressure injuries stages 1–4, unstageable, deep tissue injuries), measurements, and etiology identification. Conduct photographic documentation to track wound progression. Evaluate skin integrity and identify signs of infection, necrosis, or delayed healing. Manage patients frequently presenting with diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, immobility, neuropathy, malnutrition, and chronic illnesses. Treat typical wound types such as pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, arterial ulcers, surgical wounds, traumatic wounds, skin tears, and infected or non-healing chronic wounds.
