Position Title: Forklift Wage: $19/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7am-3:30pm Join a fast-paced warehouse team where your forklift skills and attention to detail keep products moving and operations running smoothly. This is an associate to hire opportunity for a company in Walford, IA. Forklift Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Unload inbound shipments, verifying merchandise match shipping documents; move merchandise to storage properly documenting put away locations and reporting any shipment discrepancies - Pick orders and prepare for shipment, ensuring the exact number and type of product is ready for shipment; properly load shipments - Locate and re-locate merchandise allowing for the best space utilization and picking efficiencies - Keep accurate records of stock moves, receipts, and shipments for reporting to warehouse office personnel - Operate warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner to eliminate personal injuries, merchandise damage, and damage to the warehouse - Operate various types of attachments and equipment required to handle merchandise - Inspect forklifts daily to identify any potential problems with the equipment and reporting these potential problems to Warehouse Supervisor or Warehouse Manager - Perform minor maintenance to forklifts that can be accomplished with the tools available, and ability of employee - Use of Forklift, Floor Scrubber, and Slipsheet, required - Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment cleaning - Understand the importance to participate in sanitation, pest control, and all other actions that promote food safety within the warehouse operation - Support the company goals, mission, and growth by representing the company positively to potential employment candidates, customers, and community members when appropriate Forklift Requirements: - Experience driving a forklift and/or prior exposure to a warehouse environment preferred - Attention to detail and accuracy is required as it pertains to inventory transactions and ensuring inventory accuracy - Basic math computation of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division - Basic PC skills - Must be able to maintain a high level of concentration while operating a forklift and documenting inventory transactions - Ability to solve problems including space utilization - Must be able to constantly “get on and off” a forklift throughout the day - Must be able to stoop, walk, and bend - Must be able to lift consistently a minimum of 50 and maximum of 60 pounds QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
