The Machinist puts their highly-specialized skills to work to develop custom solutions for our customers. We are looking for a Part Time Machinist Assistant to help with the flow of the day-to-day machine shop operations Key Responsibilities - Assist Machinists with projects as needed - Ability to disassemble cylinder heads and blocks - Ability to operate die grinders and sanders - Utilize a bead blaster and jet wash for thorough cleaning of engine components, including heads, blocks, cranks, and manifolds. - Perform magnaflux testing on heads to detect any potential cracks or flaws. - Understand our customer's unique needs and accurately record information relating to the machine shop services that are requested. Requirements: - Prior experience in cylinder head and block disassembly is preferred, but we will train you the right candidate - Manual dexterity skills adequate for disassembly operations - Ability to follow directions from the Machinists. - Strong organizational skills while working on multiple projects - Strong customer service skills and communication skills - Prior forklift operator experience or the ability to obtain a forklift license - Lifting of a minimum of 70 pounds on a regular basis - Standing, lifting, twisting, bending, walking and sitting - Some computer knowledge and proficiency is helpful, but not required - Your schedule could vary with around 25 hours per week with a few more hours per week occasionally possible, within shop hours Monday through Friday between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM PM22 PI105823a7c872-37156-37334770 More...
