We are looking to hire a Sonographer.As a Sonographer at MercyOne, you will be Under limited supervision, performs Ultrasound exams including OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, small parts, and other related Ultrasound procedures as necessary on scheduled or emergent basis and maintains related records; provides general assistance to the radiologist in interpreting studies; provides technical instruction to students and hospital staff. • Days/Nights; FT; 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM two nights a week and 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM one day a week and help cover every 6th weekendGeneral Requirements:
  • Performs quality ultrasound procedures by utilizing proper positioning skills and technical factors, as well as a knowledge of anatomical structures pertinent to the patient population of infants to geriatrics.
  • Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
  • Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
  • Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
  • Educates patients of exams being performed and obtains consent to perform procedures when necessary.Education:
    • Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or ARRT with one of the following.
    • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
    • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
    • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
    • Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS)
    • If not registered, be board-eligible and become registered with ARDMS within one year of hire.
    • ARDMS preferred but ARRT, or Cardiovascular Credentialing Internation (CCI) also accepted
    • Maintains active registry status with ARDMS or ARRT (30 CME's every 3 yrs/annual payment)
    • Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within six (6) months of hire and every three (3) years thereafter.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire and every two (2) years thereafter.
