Job Title: ALS Transport Provider Primary Function and Relationship to Total Organization: Provide patient care during hospital-to-hospital transport. Reports to: Jordan Erie, EMS Leader Supervises: None Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing program. License/Certification: current Iowa driver's license, maintain State of Iowa Nursing License, current certification in BLS, ACLS or willingness to obtain prior to beginning work on Ambulance. Experience: Prefer at least 3 years' experience in Nursing related occupation, Emergency or Critical Care experience preferred. On-the-job training to become more familiar with the facility and procedures involved with the hospital. Knowledge/Skills Written and verbal communications clear and understandable. Ability to read, write, and to speak the English language. Has knowledge of common safety hazards, Infection Control procedures, and Emergency plans/policies. Ability to react calmly in emergency situations. Computer skills helpful. Physical/Cognitive Demands: Sitting, standing for extensive periods of time, bending, lifting and moving items weighing 75 - 100 pounds intermittently throughout the day. May be subject to frequent interruptions and requires working under stressful conditions and working irregular hours (days, evenings or nights, weekends and holidays) Be able to perform all designated skills and demonstrate proper use of equipment within the department. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
