Schedule : This position is a part of the Nursing Management Team and will regularly work Monday through Friday with rotating on-call and Manager on Duty. Role: We are seeking a dedicated QA/Infection Control Nurse to join our team due to a retirement early Summer 2024. This position is responsible for supporting the facility's systems for preventing, identifying, reporting, investigating and controlling infections and communicable diseases for all residents, staff, volunteers, visitors, and others in the facility. The Infection Control/QA nurse oversees the QAPI process and educates/ trains staff on processes and procedural changes related to performance improvement. Responsibilities: - QA/IC Nurse Coordinates the infection prevention and control program of the facility.
- QA/IC Nurse Reviews infection prevention and control policies and procedures and make recommendation to Director of Clinical Services for revision.
- QA/IC Nurse Provides training and education related to infection control and quality assurance.
- QA/IC Nurse Monitors compliance through observations, audits, checklists, and other means.
- QA/IC Nurse Review and analyze infection control data, risk factors, and as needed, perform special studies that relate to infection prevention and control.
- QA/IC Nurse Communicates with the facility-level QAPI Committee, public health, other agencies and other facilities as applicable after consultation with Director of Nursing.
Qualifications Qualifications: - The Infection Control/QA Nurse must be a graduate from an accredited school, be currently licensed in the respective state without encumbrance, and is responsible for maintaining professional licensure and CEU requirements.
- Preferably an RN with 1-2 years of previous nursing experience in Long Term Care and/or a Skilled Nursing Facility.
- Must possess a current CPR certification.
