Certified Medical Assistant - Waukee Family MedicineWaukee, IowaFull-time Benefit Package!8 hour shifts / flex schedulingResponsibilitiesAs a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with Waukee Family Medicine, you play a vital role in providing comprehensive support to healthcare professionals and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care to a diverse population of patients, of all ages. This is a fun and fast-paced environment, with a focus on patient centered care and collaboration among healthcare professionals. Your responsibilities encompass a wide range of clinical, administrative, and patient-centered tasks within the family medicine practice. Patient Care: - Greet and prepare patients for examination, recording vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
- Assist healthcare providers in medical procedures, examinations, and minor surgical interventions.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and other treatments as directed by healthcare providers.
- Administrative Duties:
- Manage patient appointments, coordinate referrals, and maintain accurate patient records.
- Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and provide information regarding appointments and services.
- Laboratory and Diagnostic Support:
- Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws, urinalysis, and point-of-care testing.
- Assist with diagnostic imaging procedures and coordinate follow-up care.
- Patient Education:
- Provide patients and their families with information on medications, treatment plans, and preventive care.
- Offer guidance on lifestyle modifications, disease management, and health promotion.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the improvement of clinical processes. Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Mandatory Reporter.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
