We are looking for a Global Manufacturing Planning Manager. This position oversees the movement of parts/components between all global Ignition, Valves and Valve Seat & Guide plants. This position develops and implements more efficient systems of planning and monitoring the movement of parts as well as effective localization strategies to avoid unnecessary movement of products. This role also supports the growth of the business by developing and implementing methods to drive the manufacturing location decisions based on technology, capability and availability of capacity. This role is also responsible for providing a global and plant specific Capacity/Demand view. Additionally, this position drives the scheduling and planning discipline at the manufacturing locations. The Global Manufacturing Planning Manager also drives systemic actions to reduce inventory levels without jeopardizing customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, manage, and improve Capacity/demand planning of global processes.
  • Coordinate Intercompany budget data calculation and share data with the supplying plant.
  • Ignition data analyst.
  • Valves and Valve Seats & Guides data analyst.
  • Move capacity within the groups (agreement with Ops Directors to be considered)
  • Work on the demand side with plants to reduce back order to the customer.
  • Prepare base data for a 5-year strategic plan for all 4 Ignition channels, 9 plants, and Aftermarket.
  • Prepare base data for a 5-year strategic plan for all Valves plants (10 plants) and Valve Seats & Guides (4 plants) plants.
  • Manage a dotted-line team of planners around the globe.
  • Participate in in SIOP meetings with the Aftermarket team.
  • Coordinate with all plants to have demand data in SOPS after each MPS cycle
  • Participate in decision-making to move partial or full processes to other plants to help overload situations in a plant.
  • Support plants to run month-beginning priority calculation.
  • Participate in weekly meetings on Industrial Spark Plug criticality and provide direction as needed.
  • If required share base data (prior month sales and current month order book) with sales team to calculate Sales flash.
  • Maintain and train new hires or people who moved into a new role on how to use the database.
  • Utilize advanced analytics tools to analyze large datasets related to inventory, demand forecasting.
  • Generate insightful reports and dashboards to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop accurate demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and customer behavior.
  • Implement demand planning strategies to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts.

    EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Eight to ten years of experience in supply chain management/material planning, capacity/demand planning and logistics in a manufacturing environment preferred.
    • Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Access and Power BI required.
    • Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
