We are looking for an expert back-end engineer to join our Streaming Platform Team. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a key role in architecting and building high-throughput services by applying your expertise in Kafka, Java, and distributed systems. What you'll do

• You will design and build our multi-cloud, multi-region message routing service.
• Drive operational excellence within Kafka infrastructure, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response, to maintain system stability and performance.
• Provide the connective tissue between teams and organizations for all technical matters
• Provide mentoring, coaching, and training to guide teams toward technical decisions that fit well with the long-term vision. This role requires
  • Experience in technical leadership and guiding engineering teams
  • Proven experience as a Kafka Backend Developer or similar role for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Expertise in Kafka, including designing, optimizing, and maintaining Kafka-based backend systems for high efficiency.
  • Proven expertise in Java programming in building high-performance backend systems.
  • Solid understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
  • Efficient prototyping skills to assess the feasibility, impact, and risks of proposed solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate and impact decisions at the organizational level
  • Ability to collaborate with product managers, architects, and other collaborators to define technical requirements and translate them into software solutions. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Bonus points if you have
    • Experience with other distributed messaging systems or stream processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Pulsar, Apache Flink).
    • Knowledge of data serialization formats commonly used with Kafka (e.g., Avro, Protobuf).
    • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and microservices.
    • Experience with monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning of Kafka clusters.
    • Previous involvement in open-source Kafka-related projects or contributions.
    • Experience with cloud-based Kafka offerings (e.g., AWS MSK, Confluent Cloud, Azure Event Hubs).       The pay range above represents a reasonable estimate of the salary for the listed position. This role is eligible for a corporate bonus plan and may be eligible for a competitive equity package. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related factors such as an applicant's skills, qualifications, and experience.
