Role Purpose Statement An Automation Specialist uses technology to improve, streamline and automate a manufacturing process. They are responsible for planning, implementation, and monitoring such technology.Main Accountabilities Explore and implementing new ways to automate systemsDesign and testing automation equipment and processesProgram new automated componentsIdentify quality issues and writing reportsEliminate defects and errors with product and software developmentCollaborate with other business unitsContract and third-party management.Definitions related to the infrastructure and architecture of networks together with other areas of the company, aiming at the segregation between IT and OT networks.Integration and data communication between the most diverse layers of the network, following applicable cybersecurity protocols.Support in defining wireless OT network and communication protocols needed to ensure connectivity.Interaction with process historians, enabling communications and data for deeper analysis.Interaction with different communication protocols (Profibus, OPC UA and DA, Profinet, etc.).Support in monitoring projects involving ICS and Industry 4.0 update.Work together with industrial and IT teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions.Impact/Dimensions: Areas of impact: The role will be considered an expert in controls systems and electrical and instrumentation installation, troubleshooting, and reliability centered maintenance within these areas. This work will be carried out across the plant in all production departments and is essential to maintaining safe, efficient, and quality production. Key Relationships, Stakeholders & Interfaces:IT/OT local, regional, and globalOperationsGlobal / Regional Working Groups members.Knowledge and Technical Competencies PLC, AutoCAD, schematics, blue prints, P&ID, variable frequency drives, instrumentation.Knowledge Tools: Microsoft Office package, Excel Advanced, Tableau, Power BI.Soft skills: storytelling, curious, resilient, organized, urgent census and prioritization of demands.Strong analytical skillsExcited about trying new solutions Experience with project managementExperience with robotics, AI and machine learningDesirable experience with PLC system, network, rockwell.Education/Experience:Engineering Bachelor s in one of the following (Instrumentation, Controls, Electrical) is preferred. Minimum 8 years multidiscipline ICE experience. Ability to work on multifunction teams composed of site/regional employees, external resources and centralized services like procurement. Ability to deliver quality results in a high-volume/fast-moving environment and adaptability are must-haves. Effective collaboration with procurement throughout project life cycle. Experience participating in a vendor document review cycles. Excellent project management skills and ability to control scope, cost, schedule and benefits delivery on all projects. Experience with Microsoft Project is preferred. Experienced applying risk management methodology at key points in project life cycle. Proven ability to develop and manage risk mitigation plans to ensure success. Experience using Project Quality control techniques covering inspecting, testing and reporting to ensure deliverables and customer expectations are met or exceeded in all project phases. Experience applying HAZID and HAZOP, as well as Hazardous Location rating assessments. Knowledge in NFPA 36 and 61 are preferred. Experience from any of the following sectors: Power Generation, Industrial Automation Supply, Oilseeds Processing, Agriculture, Biofuels, Pulp & Paper, Food & Beverage, Packaging or Chemicals. Experienced with Microsoft products, SharePoint and other collaborative software, Microsoft Project. Team player, excellent communication skills and time management, ability to influence others to right outcomes regardless of level or position in business.
