Nurse Practitioner | Surgery - Vascular Location: Zionsville, IN Employer: Barton Associates Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position We are seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 126-day assignment in Indiana, starting Mar 30, 2026. This role involves night shifts focused on daily rounding on all inpatients, managing new consults, and facilitating patient discharges, typically overseeing a total patient census of 20-30. Responsibilities and Duties Daily rounding on all inpatients (ICU, stepdown) and new consults, as well as discharging patients. Manage an average daily patient load of 10-15, with a total patient census typically ranging from 20-30. Address cardiac cases including all adult cardiac surgeries (CAB, valves, aortic dissections, etc), often involving high-acuity patients. Handle thoracic cases, primarily robotic surgeries, VATs, and thoracotomies; includes all thoracic surgeries except esophageal. Manage vascular cases, encompassing all types of open vascular surgeries (CEA, AAA, leg revascularizations, etc). Care for heart failure patients, including those with LVAD, ECMO, and impellas. Focus on critical care only, without first assist responsibilities.
